George Cushingberry Jr. Acquitted of All Charges In Federal Court

Press Release:

On March 11, 2020  US District Court Judge Marianne O. Battani dismissed all charges against retired Michigan State Representative and former Detroit City Council-member George Cushingberry Jr.  In a 23 page ruling, Judge Battani ruled that Cleo Wiley did not have sufficient evidence of sexual harassment and, was not entitled to protection under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as an Independent Contractor.  The court properly ruled that anyone working for a Detroit City Council member is an at will employee subject to immediate dismissal.  When you accept a job as a legislative aide, you have a resignation letter already filled out.

A review of the record shows that Ms. Wiley took revenge against Mr. Cushingberry because he rejected her sexual advances after a brief affair in 2008.  When the affair ended, she continued to work for him until 2017. The record is clear in showing that:

  • Ms. Wiley maliciously tried to include other women and, men who did not support her claims of sexual harassment.
  • Ms. Wiley was involved in other relationships while pursuing Mr. Cushingberry for sexual harassment allegations.

The record shows that the timing of the  filing was done under the guise of the #MeToo movement for financial gain and, to prevent the re-election of George Cushingberry to the Detroit City Council in 2017 and, the Michigan State Senate in 2018.

Like #metoo victim Congressman John Conyers, George Cushingberry Jr. has since retired from politics and practicing law. He is enjoying life again with friends, family and, thankful that this case is finally over.

City of Detroit Supports George Cushingberry Jr! He is Going On Offense With Endorsements!

By The Committee to Elect George Cushingberry Jr.

#WeToo are Voting For George Cushingberry Jr.
We support the Detroit City Airport Historical District Plan..  #FreeKDET

It is with great pleasure to report that the City of Detroit is standing behind former Detroit City Councilmember President Pro Tem George Cushingberry Jr. He will not need to hire a private lawyer to defend himself against frivolous charges. After further review of all evidence, Corporation Council Lawrence Garcia filed a response brief with the Court in late July, dismissing the claims of the accuser Cleo Wiley Hale as an abuse of the sexual harassment #MeToo movement.

Endorsed and supported by the Cannabis Community  #VoteForCush

Strong evidence shows that she maliciously worked to sabotage the re-election campaign of George Cushingberry on behalf of other candidates and, is actively doing it again. She was responsible for the election of Virgil Smith,Roy McCalister and is currently working on the behalf of Adam Hollier. All for personal gain off the backs of Detroit taxpayers, former spouses and, others that are closely involved with her.

Adam and Scott are totally against pot!
Especially in Highland Park and Hamtramck
Vote for George Cushingberry Tuesday Aug 7th and November 6th.

We are fully expecting representatives from the female Sexual Harassment Golddiggers Union sponsored by "Progressives" PAC money to step up and attack our city in the next few hours in the information warfare world.  Just don't let them date any of your brothers, uncles, or any other male in your family. Just let Uncle Pookie,  Cousin Mike, your son or, brother come home all dinged up behind some drama, then it is a different ballgame.

The best defense of the people's money is to go on offense and cast your vote for George Cushingberry as your next State Senator.  It is your job to fight back in the information war by showing up and voting for candidates who have the best interests of the people at heart.

We endorse the use of green energy like Hemp to combat climate change

Holistic Medicine Dr. Margret Betts is Pushing for Cushingberry

Just like he did before, during, and after any crisis George Cushingberry Jr will guide us through the storms of controversy.  Red lines belong on a hockey rink instead of a city for insurance rates and, the way to change that is to:

1.   Elect George Cushingberry as State Senator
2.   Elect Dana Nessel as your Attorney General
3.   Elect Gretchen Whitmer as your Governor

#MotownStrong

If you give George Cushingberry the opportunity to work for you with your vote, the following things will happen the next day. He will introduce legislation to:

1.  Restore educational integrity by promoting literacy, virtual education with strict oversight
2.  Authorize the Attorney General to investigate the insurance industry for their damage to our economy with outrageous insurance rates. Statewide flat rate reform NOW!!!!!
3.  Restore losses to retirees by removing the pension tax, and use collective bargaining to allow unions to cover Medical Marijuana as a treatment to lower health care costs.
4.  Declare the Detroit City Airport as a Historical District and re-investment into airport upgrades with increased landing fees, new runways and a drag strip for the automobile buffs.
5.  Prosecution of all responsible for the Flint Water massacre to save a few bucks on the backs of the citizens of Flint MI.

George Cushingberry Jr, has clear proposals to Improve Michigan.
On Tuesday August 7th, Elect George Cushingberry Jr  the man for you in District 2.

Thank you...

What Does It Take to Make A Great City and State? A Working Coleman Young International Airport and Marijuana Reform

By Richard C. Clement

What can 5 million dollars’ worth of weed do for neighborhood improvement?

Currently, the City of Detroit is in possession of $5 million dollars of Marijuana taken in a raid at Mound and 8 Mile Road on March 16th, 2018 by the Detroit Police Department.  This medicine will be destroyed along with the $5 million dollar opportunity for desperately needed revenue.  While no one has filed a claim as of yet to return the property, if this medicine is sold at a Detroit Police Auction, where do you want the money to go?

Mayor Mike Duggan
emailmike@detroitmi.gov
One asset of the City that has been maliciously neglected is the Historic Coleman S. Young International Detroit City Airport. Potential customers of the airport are 4.5 miles or 7 minutes from Downtown or live within 10 miles of the complex. Currently, the main runway at Detroit City Airport is in dire need of repair to the tune of 3.5 million dollars. This would allow newer and faster aircraft to use the facility for private and public purposes, increasing business and tax revenue for the City of Detroit. And there you go, one fixed runway with 1.5 million left for other needs.

The dismantling of the Benjamin O. Davis High School and neglect of City Airport was a criminal act that can be attributed to the work of Managers and Financial review boards appointed by State officials.  Just like the management job done in Flint MI, students were poisoned by the removal of equipment, teachers, and educational opportunities to support the Educational Achievement Authority which has turned out to be a criminal business enterprise that achieved lower test scores, empty school buildings, and a large financial debt.

Free KDET! - Call and Complain to Mayor Duggan Today!

The damage from these people is very correctable by electing and selecting people who have the best interests of the children at heart.  With new ordinances and State Laws, students in Public Education must have the opportunity to study aviation and auto mechanics careers if they are interested. The area around Detroit City Airport will allow the construction of a new runway and drag strip complex built for students gaining FAA/FCC and Auto Mechanic certifications that will help build careers.

If you want change to happen, then you must communicate to your elected officials to do the right thing. The way to do it is to call Mayor Mike Duggan and all nine council members and tell them to “Free the Weed for the Jobs We Need” by doing the following steps:

  • Re-Investing into the Airport as an Airport with a historical designation, commercial air service, and educational institution
  • Returning the medicine to their rightful owners or selling at auction with restricted funding for airport re-development.
  • Ending the moratorium by the City of Detroit on Marijuana Businesses and process applications for Marijuana related businesses.
  • Immediate Expungement of all prior and current Marijuana convictions in the City of Detroit by ordinance.

If the people’s wishes are carried out, then citizens will have regained the confidence of their government doing the right thing for them.

On My Last Day Of Working for You In Detroit City Council District 2 - A Summary

By Richard C. Clement

I knew this day would come.  Turn in your badge, keys, and parking passes. It was a real blast!   I met a lot of wonderful people and got some things done for the City. Starting with the Detroit Fire Department in 2014, they were paying for software that did not work. In 2017 they are using the latest technology and it works for a change.

Firefighter health care will be subsidized by the Marijuana Excise Tax Fund that will pay into the First Responders Presumptive Care Fund managed by the Michigan Department of Treasury. We also helped to fix a few drain issues for constituents during the flood 2015 and, got the garbage picked up when the Advanced Disposal trucks would miss a house or two.

I truly enjoyed correcting Detroit News Editor Nolan Finley regarding the selection of Council President Jones and, Council President Pro Tem George Cushingberry in 2014. I told him that he was wrong, where he could go, and how he could go. Four years later, I proved to be right by saying that “Jones and Cush will lead a new push for a better and brighter Detroit”.

One of my proudest moments was on August 12th, 2014, when I went to Windsor Canada on behalf of American Cannabis supporters to give my deepest apologies to Marc Emery and his wife Jodie, for the cruel treatment that the United States of America inflicted upon him for selling Marijuana seeds. He is a Canadian Citizen who lived in Vancouver British Colombia and was arrested on behalf of the DEA in 1999.

Richard Clement and Marc Scott Emery 2014

He was held in a Federal prison in Mississippi for 5 years and unlike other international prisoners who are flown directly home, he was being humiliated by being forced out of the country through the Detroit/Windsor Tunnel 3000 miles away from his home.  He arrived in Windsor CA from Mississippi in shackles and chains with $170.00 US dollars and a brand new pair of Nikes. This cruel and un-usual punishment inspired Mr. Emery to embark on the largest voter registration drive to elect Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to office in 2015.

We were proud to stimulate the further development of Detroit City Airport as an Airport. We hope that hometown investors like Marcus Channey of Metropolitan Airways are allowed to invest millions into the property so that he can operate his airline from the location creating jobs. We also hope that the new Council does not foul up the progress being made for Benjamin O. Davis Aerospace High School to be relocated to the Airport grounds. When this happens, the school can restore their FAA/FCC certification program that was stolen by the mismanagement of the Emergency Managers.

We are glad that we helped Tindal Center reopen in Northwest Detroit.  We also feel that Johnson Center will be open one day. We wish Councilmember Roy McCalister the best to get this job done, along with the AMTRAK train station at State Fairgrounds.  This land is long overdue for development and it is time to quit screwing around with it.

As I leave this 13th floor office for the final time, I can say that we did “Free The Weed for the jobs we need”.   All naysayers, doubters, and talk about-ers were wrong. Despite a few in the neighborhoods who come to hearings presenting falsified data and forged documents in opposition, both Marijuana ballot proposals passed by 60%. In every precinct in District 2, voters overwhelming chose to opt-into State Marijuana laws and decide where businesses will be located and, how they are operated.  The additional revenue from this industry can help Detroit City Retirees restore some of the damage inflicted upon them by State of Michigan financial mismanagement.

Finally the experience was real and thank you all for the memories:

Sincerely,

Richard C. Clement
Legislative Aide to Council President Pro Tem George Cushingberry Jr. 2014-2017

Detroit City Council Being Requested To Commit Voter Fraud on Tuesday Nov 21st

By Richard C. Clement - Marijuana Policy Analyst and Legislative Aide to Councilmember ProTem George Cushingberry Jr. - City of Detroit

Your presence is requested at the Coleman Young Municipal Center 13th floor on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 10am for public comment and protest of the Detroit City Planning Commission. They are asking the Detroit City Council to partner with Attorney General Bill Schuette to throw out of the votes of Detroiters on Marijuana reform because of an assumed technicality of the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act.

Website: Michigan Zoning Enabling Act  www.michiganrelaw.com

Website: The Murder in Vandalia Michigan at the Rainbow Farms Camp by the FBI and the State of MI for Marijuana

These same forces are forcing business owners out of the market by applying exorbitant fees driving small business owners out of the market. We want a Community Benefits Agreement for Marijuana in the City of Detroit stating how the new businesses will help contribute to the betterment of the quality of life for the community.  Detroit residents are more than consumers of Marijuana, they are also business owners of every race, sex, marital status, and choice of a significant other.

The 2:00 Minute Drill is in Full Effect -  Written Comments Welcome Also

The current Detroit City Council will be asked by the City Planning Commission to invalidate the results of the vote in the Nov. 7th General Election regarding Medical Marijuana Zoning. They will be asked to present a legal challenge to prevent the enforcement of the will of the people with the help of Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette. After years of Emergency Management and, the damage that it has done to everyone, this request by the planning commission offends the tenants of the United States and State of Michigan constitution by asking the City Council to commit an act of Voter Fraud.

This action is very detrimental to our democracy, especially the children who we are teaching about respecting the law and the importance of participating in your government. We talk about how people gave their lives so that people can get the opportunity to address their government and redress their grievances.  The children will be able to use their smart phones to look up voter suppression and see what is going on. Children in Detroit will be able to tell everyone that voting doesn’t matter and, that’s why my parents don’t vote.

Oral Public comment is limited to two minutes.  Written comments are always welcome and accepted for the record.  Contact your Detroit City Council Today!

Please be advised that the Detroit City Charter prevents the Council and Mayor from re-implementing any provisions of the old law for a minimum of 360 days after a vote is certified.

Vote YES twice on November 7th 2017 for Sensible Marijuana Laws in the City of Detroit

By Richard C. Clement - Marijuana Policy Analyst

On Nov 7th, two proposals Chapters 24 and 61 are on the City of Detroit Ballot to allow the citizens of Detroit to decide to Opt-Into the State of Michigan Medical Marijuana Caregivers Act with their vote.  The highlights of the proposals are as follows:

  • Opts the City of Detroit ordinance into the State of Michigan Medical Marijuana Facilities and Licensing Act
  • Allows for new revenue to be reinvested into parks, recreation centers, retiree pensions, and fighting the war on poverty
  • Establishes standards to regulate caregiver centers through the city's Building, Safety Engineering and Environmental Department regarding issuance, renewal and revocation.
  • Amends the definition of a Drug-Free School Zone to correspond to federal and state law that requires dispensaries to be at least 1,000 feet from schools, colleges and public libraries
  • Dispensaries will be allowed to open within 500 feet of another dispensaries, 500 feet of exempt religious institutions where religious services are regularly conducted.
  • Removes restrictions on liquor, beer/wine stores, child-care centers, arcades and parks.
  • Dispensaries would be allowed to stay open until 9 p.m.
  • The new ordinance will aid in preventing unscrupulous business owners from opening a Church, or Day Care Center for the sole purpose of preventing the opening of a MMCC business.
  • Adoption of this ordinance by the electorate will effectively stop Winfred Blackmon, Hazel Fludd, and their clown car full of neighborhood groups who come to EVERY Board of Zoning Hearing with frivolous claims, twisted reasoning, and false allegations. In some cases the opposition lives up to 9 miles away from a MMCC facility and talk about the places like they live next door to them.

The current City of Detroit Medical Marijuana ordinance violates tenants of the Federal Religious Use and Institutionalized Persons Act and, the US Constitution 1st Amendment on separation of church and state. Additionally crime data from the Detroit Police Department shows that crime has actually DECREASED around the addresses of the businesses and, that they are viable tax paying entities and, that the neighborhood groups are lying to a government entity for personal gain.

Richard C. Clement with the owners of the
House of Zen
14501 Mack Ave, Detroit, MI 48215

Whereas current District 2 City Council Candidate Roy McAlister is a solid NO vote on both measures, Council President Pro Tempore George Cushingberry recommends a YES vote on amending Chapters 24 and 61. If elected to City Council, Roy McAlister wants to limit and continue the shutdown of MMCC facilities by retaining the current ordinance. George Cushingberry wants to bring Detroit into the 21st century from 80 years of prohibition policy based on racist thoughts and ideas from the 1930’s.
Website:  House Of Zen / Weedmaps.com

Adopting both measures will bring needed revenue to the city, create jobs, and revitalize some of the empty building in the neighborhoods. Another good thing is that it increases opportunities for Minority and Women owned businesses like the House of Zen on Mack Avenue who can employ people from the neighborhood, draw new business to the neighborhood and add to the quality of life.

Vote YES on 24, Vote YES on 61, now is the time to get the job done.

Mayor Mike Duggan and Council President Pro Tem George Cushingberry team up to Improve Detroit Neighborhoods - Starting with District 2

By Richard C. Clement

Council President Pro Tem George Cushingberry Jr. will be leading a financial team review with Deputy Chief Finance Officer John Naglick and Council members of the Budget, Audit, and Finance committee to review Mayor Mike Duggan’s $125 million bond fund request to revitalize the city’s commercial business corridors. With the support of city and community partners, business districts will be more attractive and pedestrian friendly.

Upon implementation in 2018, the city aims to recapture some of the estimated $2.6 billion in retail spending Detroit residents do annually in surrounding communities, according to a study by the Detroit Economic Development Corporation. The McNichols corridor in District 2 will be the model for this citywide project and, we are strongly anticipating its approval by the entire 9 member Detroit City Council.

Website: Council President Pro Tem George Cushingberry Jr. and District 2 Manager Kim Tandy make plans for the neighborhood.

President Pro Tem Cushingberry strongly expressed that Detroiters Quit Rapping and Start Mapping a plan for the future of Detroit’s neighborhoods. With his leadership in finance, Mayor Duggan and the bond fund managers will redirect road dollars into the neighborhoods for projects such as this.  One of the goals of this project is to reduce the speeding deaths along the McNichols, Puritan, and 7 Mile Corridors.  Drivers are travelling too fast on roads that were designed in the 1950 and are paying for it with their lives.

If you support the City of Detroit neighborhoods then, do the right thing this November 7th at the ballot box  and write in George Cushingberry Jr. name on your ballot.  We have come so far as a City to allow imitators and perpetrators to get elected and destroy the progress we have made as a City Council and Administration for the best interests of our Detroit Citizens.

In other news, the University District Community Association is sponsoring a petition drive to declare a Special Assessment District for their neighborhood. This is a request that is similar to the  request from neighbors who live in Sherwood Forest, Palmer Woods, and the Detroit Golf Club. With the special assessment, residents in the U.D.C.A. neighborhood are agreeing to asses themselves an additional $175 a year per home for enhanced services of mosquito control, extra security, and snow removal from streets and sidewalks. President Pro Tem Cushingberry has been very supportive of the efforts and was a driving force for the needs of our citizens to request better services through neighborhood management of assessment funds.

If you have any questions about the assessment petition, please do not hesitate to call (313) 447-0003.

Write-In Voting Instructions For George Cushingberry Jr on November 7th. The Man For You In District 2

By. Richard C. Clement

On August 9th, 2017 a lawsuit was filed by Anita E. Belle chair of the Voting Justice Committee regarding voting irregularities in the City of Detroit in the primary election on Tuesday August 8th 2017.  The organization performed research on voter registration and found that at least 1,175 voters registered for the August primary were vacant lots belonging to the Detroit Land Bank.

There were other improprieties reported such as duplicate ballots and denial of challenging the voter list with the land bank properties. Some election inspectors were given bonuses of $30 for their poll book not being challenged. According to her signed affidavit, challenges to duplicate ballots were prevented by Elections staff members and Ms. Bell was forced to leave the room. Oral Arguments will be heard on October 13, 2017. If successful, there will be further investigation for Voter Irregularity (or Voter Fraud)

Website:  List of Vacant Homes with Voting Addresses for the City of Detroit
Case# 17-011933-AW Belle v City of Detroit Election Commission et al Janice Winfrey

The race in District 2 was impacted by a judicial system who never considered that Virgil Smith would get ANY votes, let alone place in the top two. In the computer industry, this anomaly would have been addressed with a system test and the error would have been corrected. The legal system has left the issue up to the voters and after consulting with constituents and supporters, George Cushingberry Jr. was strongly advised to pursue a Write-In Campaign. On Friday September 15th George Cushingberry filed a Declaration of Intent to run as a Write-In candidate in the November 7th, general election

Write-In Instructions to vote for George Cushingberry Jr.
